Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has visited headquarters of the giant e-commerce Alibaba Group in Hangzhou, China, Office of the Prime Minister reported.
Abiy held talks with Alibaba Group Chairman, Jack Ma, on ways of enhancing partnership between Ethiopia and the group.
Chairman Jack Ma said the visit is a reflection of the friendship geared towards supporting Ethiopia’s development.
He has been inspired by the ongoing reforms in Ethiopia, he added.
Jack Ma stated that Ethiopia is now a key strategic partner and that he will pay a visit to the country this year.
It is to be recalled that PM Abiy and Jack Ma met in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year at the World Economic Forum.
