Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has arrived in Jimma, Oromia Regional State, to attend the 9th Organizational Conference of the Oromo Peoples’ Democratic Organization (OPDO).
The premier was warmly welcomed by elders, religious fathers and other members of the community upon his arrival at Jimma this afternoon.
A total of 6,000 participants are going to attend the opening ceremony that will begin tomorrow. Some 1,066 voting members and 250 observers will take part at the three-day congress, it was learned.
Leaders of competing parties and sister organizations are also expected to attend the meeting.
