Foreign Minister Workneh Gebeyehu has received credentials of the newly appointed Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Elsadig Bakheit Elfaki Abdalla.
Workneh and Abdalla exchanged views on ways of further elevating the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Sudan.
“Ethiopia and the Sudan have enjoyed excellent bilateral relations and strong people-to-people ties,” Workneh said.
Appreciating the consistently growing strong cooperation between the two counties, he stressed on the need to do more in areas of economic cooperation.
Abdalla said on his part Sudan values its relationship with Ethiopia. “We understand how the bilateral cooperation is very important.”
He added that “both countries have the potential to further strengthen the cooperation in the economic sector and realize the aspirations of their people.”
The ambassador pledged to do his best to further enhance the bilateral cooperation during his tenure, according to the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
